🚨 RACING UPDATE 🚨 With additional investment from the Ontario government secured, Fort Erie Race Track has immediately implemented a purse increase to all races for the remainder of the 2026 season. In June, a new funding agreement brought a $35 million annual investment into Ontario’s horse racing industry, of which $10 million has been allocated to thoroughbred horse racing participants, including breeders and trainers. Fort Erie Race Track is one of only two thoroughbred tracks in the province. The additional funding will allow Fort Erie to increase purses by 15 per cent, bringing an average race card up from about $127,000 to more than $146,000.
