Yukon Territory Lotteries

The sale of lottery tickets began in Yukon in 1974, when an agreement was signed between the Commissioner of Yukon and the Western Canada Lottery Corporation, which works with the Yukon Lottery in planning and developing new lottery schemes and administrative procedures. This type of lottery is classified as a public lottery rather than charitable. The Yukon Lottery Commission controls ticket sales and distributes funds back to the government and to a number of causes benefiting art, sports and recreational activities in the territory. The lottery offers traditional draws, sports betting products and instant lotteries.
