In 2008, St. John's Racing & Entertainment Centre expanded its offerings by securing a new TAB and foreign race intertrack betting contacts, which allowed it to offer betting in additional markets and increase revenue.

In 2017, St. John's ceased live racing operations, but still offers TAB.
