British Columbia Casino and Card Room Gaming

Casinos have operated in the province since 1987. The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) has been overseeing and managing slot machines since their introduction in 1997. The province gives local governments the authority to determine the type and scope of gaming within their boundaries.

B.C. has over 30 casinos and community gaming centres across the province, which include everything from slots to table games to restaurants and concert venues.

BCLC continues to operate these facilities, with ongoing investments in modernization and responsible gambling initiatives such as GameSense. There are no major changes to the number of casinos, but some venues have expanded amenities and integrated technology to enhance player experience.
