Following the legalization of single-game sports betting in Canada in August 2021, BCLC expanded PlayNow Sports to include single-event bets alongside traditional parlays.
On January 27, 2025, BCLC opened B.C.’s first in-person sportsbook lounge at Chances Kelowna, with a second location at Parq Vancouver launched in March 2025.
PlayNow Sportsbook is the sole provincially regulated online sportsbook, accessible exclusively to B.C. residents aged 19 and older. Mobile betting is fully supported, and remote registration is allowed without visiting retail outlets.
