British Columbia Sports Betting

Sports betting is offered by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation at land-based retailers via the PROLINE retail brand and online via PlayNow Sports. In 2024, BCLC rebranded its retail sports betting product from Sports Action to PROLINE, introducing single-event betting, improved odds and same-day payouts at retail locations.

Following the legalization of single-game sports betting in Canada in August 2021, BCLC expanded PlayNow Sports to include single-event bets alongside traditional parlays.

BCLC has expanded its PROLINE retail sportsbook lounge network significantly. The first lounge opened at Chances Casino Kelowna on February 10, 2025 (with a Super Bowl Sunday preview on February 9), followed by Parq Casino Vancouver (March 2025), Chances Maple Ridge (May 24, 2025), Casino of the Rockies in Cranbrook (June 2025), Chances Casino Fort St. John (September 21, 2025), and Chances Casino Terrace (November 16, 2025) — making six PROLINE Sportsbook Lounges operating province-wide as of late 2025. Each lounge features large-format screens (18–25 feet), self-serve betting terminals, and in-play single-event wagering.

PlayNow Sports is the sole provincially regulated online sportsbook, accessible exclusively to B.C. residents aged 19 and older. Mobile betting is fully supported, and remote registration is allowed without visiting retail outlets.
