New Brunswick Casino and Card Room Gaming

New Brunswick has offered video lottery terminals (VLTs) in licensed locations since 1990. They are operated by the Atlantic Lottery Corporation. Under the Lotteries Act, the Environmental Trust Fund receives CAD 10 million from the terminals annually, while the remainder of the revenue is placed into the Consolidated Fund where it is used to fund government programs.

Smoking was banned in public businesses including casinos in October 2004.
There are two casinos in New Brunswick. Casino New Brunswick is located in the city of Moncton and offers slots, Poker and other table games. Casino New Brunswick is operated by a private operator, the Great Canadian Gaming (New Brunswick) Ltd. Grey Rock Casino is located on the Madawaska Maliseet First Nation (Edmundston) and offers slots, electronic table games and Poker. Grey Rock Casino is operated by a private operator, the Grey Rock Entertainment Centre Inc.

The NBLGC is responsible for managing the service provider agreement with casino operators. The Gaming, Liquor and Security Licensing Branch, (Department of Justice and Public Safety) is responsible for the regulation of casino gaming, which includes the registration requirements of gaming suppliers and gaming assistants.
