Ontario Sports Betting
In June 2021, the Senate passed Bill C-218, the Safe and Regulated Sports Betting Act, which amenedd the Criminal Code to allow provincial governments to determine when and how to conduct and manage single-event sports betting offerings within their borders.
In February 2022, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) launched PROLINE, which allows sports bettors to place single-game wagers at approximately 10,000 retail locations in Ontario.
In October 2022, retail sportsbooks launched in Ontario.
